This was such a fun, yet suspensful thriller. I loved the sporadic dark humor that the author inserted. I highly recommend this book!
Kill Me Tomorrow: A Psychological Thriller
Britney King
Ethan Lane is a Private Investigator. His latest case is a homicide case; a wealthy bachelor was murdered. It appears the killer locates victims on a dating app, Beacon; Ethan goes undercover. During his investigation he meets a famous sex therapist, Ali. While she may help others with their bedroom problems, Ali’s love life is suffering. Ali is a married woman who has one-night stands. She is a successful businesswoman with offices in several cities; her clients are satisfied with her help. Ali wants more! She wants anticipation, adventures, and danger. Ali educates her female clients in how to be seductive and how to find erotic gratification. Ali has a insatiable carnal hunger, she loves men! She enjoys bondage sporadically. She uses men for her sexual pleasure and for material gratification. She has met several high-profile men on the dating app.
Ethan is a divorced father of three, in need of money. He has been hired by Camille to investigate her father’s death which is listed as suicide; she suspects he was murdered. Ethan has been on the case for several months; he has a lead suspect, a woman. There is a connection between all the victims…Beacon the dating app. Could Ali be the serial killer? She is influential, devious and everything Ethan wants in a woman. There is much more to Ethan’s story.
This is a psychological thriller. Author Britney King is a talented author capable of bringing her characters to life. In “Kill Me Tomorrow” Brown has created a complex, multi-dimensional female lead in Ali. Ethan is also a well fleshed out character. The story is told through three points of view: Ali, Ethan and an unknown person. There are several twists and turns and the ending may surprise you.
Britney King does it again in writing a powerful twisted psychological thriller! I love the way this book begins with the Prologue which seems like the end. King creates strong characters even if some of them are not easy to like. I especially like her character Ali who is a sex therapist. She does a lot of good for many couples. But someone wants to kill her. Check it out for an edge of your chair thriller.
I never know in which direction Britney King is going to take me. This book has more curves and twist than a mountain road. I swear at the beginning I knew who was preying on the men of the Beacon dating app but halfway through I Thought no maybe not. But as Private Investigator Ethan Lane delves into suspect Ali Brown not all is as it seems to be. Is she really a killer? Deception is a very powerful tool. So halfway through I began to doubt my own sleuthing skills and Britney King leads me on a ride I didn't see coming. So Kill Me Tomorrow is so exciting to read I truly couldn't get enough.
I did receive the audio from Netgalley and enjoyed listening to the amazing narrator Patrick Zeller. He did a great job bringing all the characters to life.
Kill Me Tomorrow by Britney King is an extremely addictive psychological thriller that is fast paced, twisty and a bit steamy.
P.I. (former FBI agent) Ethan is hired to investigate the suspicious suicide of a wealthy bachelor. It soon becomes clear that it wasn't suicide and there are other victims. One thing they all have in common is being on dating apps. When Ethan goes undercover he is shocked to meet Ali a famous sex guru. He is extremely attracted to her. He doesn't see the problem pursuing her except that she might be a killer.
I was completely invested in this story. Narrator Patrick Zeller gave Ethan the perfect balance of self depreciating attitude and honest awareness of his self sabotage with his tone and humor. I really enjoyed his portrayal of Ali's sarcastic snobbery believing she is always the smartest person in the room.
The twists are deliciously jaw dropping though sometimes reality needs to be suspended for some of them such as Ethan's complete ignorance of social media and dating apps. For fans of a fun distracting psychological thriller Kill Me Tomorrow is perfect for today.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publisher OrangeSky Audio via NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
